Summer, Barefeet and Barielle's Giveaway

This Giveaway will remain at the top of my blog until it ends on 6/7/11.  To view newest post please scroll down.

With Summer here, I couldn't be more excited to announce my latest  review and giveaway.  Barielle is not a new product to me.  As a matter of fact I still remember the first time my mother purchased it for me at Dilliards Dept. Store.  It has long been touted at the Miracle Cream for nails.   And with good reason.  This product works!

Just to give you a little history about Barielle:
More than 30 years ago husband and wife equestrian aficionados devised a breakthrough formula to condition the hooves of their million-dollar thoroughbred racehorses. Reformulated for women and men, the miracle product “Nail Strengthener Cream” was born and Barielle was founded. Their Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream, which helps nails grow healthier and stronger while resisting splits, peels, and breaks, remains a best-selling product even today.

Barielle products are sold exclusively at www.barielle.com, so be sure to check out their entire line to help  get your hands and feet ready for the summer!
For the review I was able to try the :
.
  • Barielle Total Foot Care Cream -- Allure Best of Beauty Award Winner ($12):
    • Luxurious conditioning cream that helps eliminate calluses and cracks
    • Contains NO harsh peeling ingredients, acids, or camphor
    • Leaves your feet feeling soft and silky
    • Baby powder fragrance
    • Apply one or twice per day
This is so lush and creamy.  For years I've rubbed my feet with the thickest lotion I could find and this is absolutely the best!  Not only do my feet feel great when I put it on but they feel so much softer in the mornings.  I can only imagine how much better it would work if I sleep in socks after applying it.  Sorry ya'll, but I don't do socks in bed.

I also tried theBarielle Nail Strenghtener Cream.  Like I said before I remember my mom buying me my first jar of the Nail Strenghtener cream close to 30 years ago when it was new.  I loved it then and love it even more now.

  • Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream
    • The most popular, ground-breaking product for nail treatment
    • Helps strengthen nails to resist splits, peels and breaks
    • Use daily to maintain healthy nails
    • Noticeable improvement in 3-4 weeks
    • Can be used over nail polish or on bare nails

Last but not least I was also sent a "Shades by Barielle" Nail Polish ($12) to review. This salon-strength
formula polish is completely free of the chemicals dibutyl phthalate, toluene and formaldehyde and it billed as being pregnancy safe. I chose shade #5088 Blossom.  It's the perfect peachy pink for summer.  I love how easily is glides on and the smoothy, creamy finish.

Barielle has generous offered to give one Cotton Pickin Cute winner there own
Barielle Nail Strengthener Cream!

May is Cystic Fibrosis month - Zack is just one of the faces

Here's the most recent picture of my grandchildren Zack and Ki'a.  Somehow I missed that, May was Cystic Fibrosis Month.  Most of you probably already know that Zack was born with CF.  We are so very lucky though.  He is now 10 years old.  An age that was rare for a child with CF to see just a few short years ago.

We've know about his disease since he was 2 years old.  Zack is our HERO!  He has taken approximately 20 different medications a day, including breathing treatments, since he was 3 years old.  Zack hasn't let any of this stop him.  He's extremely bright and funny.  He's a wonderful student and involved in many extracurricular activities including, football, baseball, soccer, wrestling and karate.  He loves Boy Scouts, bowling, swimming and just about anything else you give him the chance to do.  It is inspirational, all he does without complaining.  I would do well, to take a lesson from his book of life.

I love this picture of them from Mothers day.

Below I've posted a video by Frank Deford from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  I hope you'll take time to watch it and hear about the amazing strides CF makes because of others.

From: CysticFibrosisUSA  | Jul 17, 2007  | 9,075 views
The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation video podcasts present the stories of CF patients, families and volunteers. Frank Deford, sports commenter, noted author of "Alex: The Life of a Child" and CFF Chairman Emeritus, recalls how he came to realize his daughter Alex, who died of CF at age 8, was a true hero.

Remember to drive safe and  I hope you and your families have a blessed and fun filled Memorial Day weekend.

Hugs....Tracy :)

Dressing in the Hot South

It's hot.  I mean really hot!  So far this week we haven't been below 95 degrees.  Are you feelin' me?  While the rest of the country is excited to see summer, it's hard for us to walk out of the air conditioning.  So I've had fashion on my mind. On my mind is the key word here, I don't think I'll be going shopping.

If you move here from up North you'll quickly see that the average fashion expectations don't apply here.  It's more casual and relaxed.  It has to be but does that mean it has to be style-less?  I don't think so.  I definitely didn't think so but I'd be a poor example of it.  Fashion used to be huge to me.  No not the Paris Hilton big bucks, newest trend fashion.  I'm talking, never going to the store in something that isn't cute and makeup was a must.  While I don't think I'll ever be in Style Watch magazine, I think it's important to feel good about yourself, and fashion does matter.  Who doesn't feel better in a new outfit?  You know it's true.  The better you look, the better you feel.  I just thought I'd show you some of the cute things I saw while doing my daydream search today.

I would wear this print dress from Nordstrom anywhere!  Wouldn't that be the perfect errand dress or something cool to wear to the ballgame?   Machine Washable $96.00
I love the bold crispness of  orange!!  This spring wedding outfit was put together on Wardrobe 911.  Not only is the color and shape of that dress fabulous, but I LOVE that handbag!!!  The bangles are so cute and how chic are those stylin' sandals.  We're way over my budget here but you know what I always say...A Girl Can Dream.

More cheery orange from Newport News.

The jeans are on sale, I didn't check out the tee's price. Jeanology® 5-Pocket Classic Capri Jeans
Was $34.00-$37.00
Sale $24.00-$27.00

There's great choices out there in all kinds of budgets.  Now if I could just leave the comfort of my air condition.  Hmmmm,  well there's always online shopping.

Cross Pen Review the Perfect Fathers Day & Graduation Gift ~ Review

I just received my new Cross Pen in the mail and I love it. The pen I received is from the Edge Collection.  I love the way it just slides open to write and when you're done you just snap it shut.  You can even buy refills in the fun color of your choice.

I love my computer so don't get me wrong when I tell you how much I miss a wonderful hand written letter.  I especially love to go to the mailbox and find one waiting there for me.  I love to collect old letters with all the beautiful cursive writing.  It's almost a lost art.  Where do you see penmanship like that anymore?  But beautiful penmanship takes practice.  And how better to practice than to use a well made, smooth fluid writing instrument.  I love a good pen.  The feel is just right....the right balance, the smoothness in which the ink flows, no globs of ink here.

Believe it or not pens are a big deal in our family.  Not only does the hubby Neil love them but so does our son Ty, probably because Neil has always carried a good one in his notebook and Ty always looked up to him.  I've bought several cross pens in my lifetime.  Mostly for the men in my life.  I still remember giving Ty his first one and he was so proud of it.  It's sort of like having a new wallet it just feels special.  Cross Pens are a perfect gift for graduation and Father's Day.

Right now, through May 26th, you can get Free engraving at cross.com
You can also get 20% off with free shipping at cross.com lasts until July 31st.   Use the code SHOPCROSS.

This Cross Pen is my latest review with  BzzAgent.com. As a Bzz Agent, I get to try new things and share them with you.  You can find out more and sign up at BzzAgent.com.

We have a winner of the $96 Hapari Swimsuit giveaway.  Before I tell you who that winner is, I want to tell you again how much I really like my own Hapari swimsuit that you see below.  This is the best swimsuit I had in YEARS!!!  The quality is unsurpassed.  It firmly holds all the things I want it to hold in all the right places.  You can really feel the difference in this swimsuit.  Now I only wish I had one for my daughter-in-law, granddaughter, 2 grandsons and son to wear when they come for their big Florida visit next month.  Oops...I guess Neil wouldn't appreciate me leaving him out.  I'm so excited about the kids coming to visit.  It's going to be a great reunion and I plan on having a professional photographer take some afternoon beach pictures so I can have a really lovely family portrait made.

Thank all of you who entered for making this review and giveaway such a success.  Because of your involvement in my blog I'm now able to say I have more great giveaways lined up and will be posting them starting tonight.
