Tuesdays Style After 30 - How To Wear Pink and Look Strong

Pink is one of those iffy colors, especially after 40.  You don't want to look like you're trying too hard to look 26.  You definitely don't want to look like the soft squishy grandmother that smells like sweet powder and wears pink.  So I'm showing some summer style's that rock after 30, 40 and even 50.  I'm loving this paisley top!!!  No little girl or old grandma here.

Who said you can't wear a white tee shirt anymore.  This form fitting tee, ruched at the side is totally feminine and puts a little class into a casual style.  It gives you some shape to your body which is something that takes a more discerning eye as you age mature.  If it's cool or a more profession atmosphere the jacket works perfectly.  I love the bold scarf for a punch of color and the shoes are just the right pink, not to girly and a little bit sassy.

You might have to unroll the hem of these shorts to make it work but this blouse says you can where me anywhere and still be comfortable in the hot summer.  Those pearls, sandals and glasses make you look like a million bucks!

You can never go wrong with a simple sheath dress.  It's always a classic.  If  your petite like I am, a sheath is a must for your wardrobe.  It lengthens your silhouette.  When I was young it gave me a more mature look other dresses always made me look so young, but yet it isn't matronly so it's the perfect dress for midlife too.

Are you looking for a dress to wear to that outdoor wedding?  This is it!  I just hope you don't take all eyes off the bride.  This dress is everything chic is supposed to be.  The cinched/ruched waistline is really going to show your curves in just the right places and help camouflage the ones you need to hide.  Indoor wedding, no problem.  Got you covered with this sparkly white/silver jacket.  Sparkly accessories mixed with summer sandals and a textured clutch keep you looking elegant even in the summertime.

So what do you think?  Can you wear pink at any age?  Do you have pink in your wardrobe?  No wimpy pink here.  I really need a gift card shopping spree!!

Let me know what you're wanting in your closet.  I love to hear from you.

I Don't Want To Be Famous I Just Want Out of My Pajamas

Why is it so difficult for a woman over 40, well okay if you're going to be picky, over 50 to find an article on fashion that's suitable?

To be honest I'm getting stuck in a rut.  I don't go as much as I used to and I'm finding myself a lot more comfortable in my pajamas than clothes.  How do you still look good at home?  Do you have a fashion style at home?  Would you be embarrassed to have a neighbor pop over?

For the past, I don't know how many years, we have remodeled the house, landscaped the yard and anything nice or at least decent I didn't want to wear around here and ruin.  Now I've gained weight and need new clothes.  How can I dress comfortable with out going to the old ladies department or the Blair catalog (no offense if you shop there).  All I want to wear is elastic waist bands, at least at home.  I also want it loose and comfy but am tired of not looking put together anymore.  So if you have tips or want to share, I sure would like to hear how you deal with it.

I did think this was a cute and cool (as in weather wise) dress.  I'm not sure where I found this one.
I swear it seems like it's been as close to impossible to find what I want when I go on the search engines.  I always end up being there forever.  My actual request was just to find, wear around the house and errand clothing.  Yeah, these shorts are a little short for me.  And even that's getting difficult because I'm petite and look really short in long shorts but at 50 plus you don't want to be out in really short ones.

I believe I got the next two on Newport News or maybe Talbots but I'm not sure.
I love this pop of color with the khaki.  The next pair of shorts look like just the right length. But to be honest I could only wear that coral top if I was going to be in a/c all day.  Way to hot here to wear much more than tanks and tees here in Florida.  Which leads back to the question, how do you look pulled together when you have to keep clothing to a minimum.
This last outfit is one I put together myself at the Target website.  I just found that.  It's so cool!  It lets you put your own outfits together.  You pick the top and bottom (or dress), shoes and accessories. And then you save it to their page and you can share it with others by putting it on facebook or your blog.  You can even view what everyone else puts together. What a great way to shop!

Ya'll have a beautiful, cheery day.
Hugs...Tracy :)

Dressing in the Hot South

It's hot.  I mean really hot!  So far this week we haven't been below 95 degrees.  Are you feelin' me?  While the rest of the country is excited to see summer, it's hard for us to walk out of the air conditioning.  So I've had fashion on my mind. On my mind is the key word here, I don't think I'll be going shopping.

If you move here from up North you'll quickly see that the average fashion expectations don't apply here.  It's more casual and relaxed.  It has to be but does that mean it has to be style-less?  I don't think so.  I definitely didn't think so but I'd be a poor example of it.  Fashion used to be huge to me.  No not the Paris Hilton big bucks, newest trend fashion.  I'm talking, never going to the store in something that isn't cute and makeup was a must.  While I don't think I'll ever be in Style Watch magazine, I think it's important to feel good about yourself, and fashion does matter.  Who doesn't feel better in a new outfit?  You know it's true.  The better you look, the better you feel.  I just thought I'd show you some of the cute things I saw while doing my daydream search today.

I would wear this print dress from Nordstrom anywhere!  Wouldn't that be the perfect errand dress or something cool to wear to the ballgame?   Machine Washable $96.00
I love the bold crispness of  orange!!  This spring wedding outfit was put together on Wardrobe 911.  Not only is the color and shape of that dress fabulous, but I LOVE that handbag!!!  The bangles are so cute and how chic are those stylin' sandals.  We're way over my budget here but you know what I always say...A Girl Can Dream.

More cheery orange from Newport News.

The jeans are on sale, I didn't check out the tee's price. Jeanology® 5-Pocket Classic Capri Jeans
Was $34.00-$37.00
Sale $24.00-$27.00

There's great choices out there in all kinds of budgets.  Now if I could just leave the comfort of my air condition.  Hmmmm,  well there's always online shopping.
