The One Day Way Book Review

One of the most recent books I’ve read is “The One Day Way” by Chantel Hobbs.  Chantel is a motivational speaker, life coach, personal trainer marathon runner, wife and mother of four.  She has apperared on many shows including Oprah, the Today Show, Good Morning America, Fox & Friends, the 700 Club as well as being published on the covers of People and First magazines.

Chantel wasn’t always svelte herself.  In 2000 she weighed nearly 350 lbs.  She had a weight issue ever since childhood and was tired of it and finally set her mind to losing the weight that had been weighing her down most of her life.  She lost 200 lbs.  Best of all she kept that weight off.  She knew that just dieting didn’t work.  Deciding it was time to reconstruct more than  her body and rebuilt her life, she started working on it one day at a time, one bite-size goal at a time.  And she wrote her first book “Never Say Diet” to help others do the same thing.

In this book she shares others motivational stories that will inspire you to make a change too.  This is not a book about religion but she does make it clear that her that she believes in a simple plan with simple steps by focusing on food, faith, and fitness.  Chantel wants you to live the life you were designed to live and she is providing you the tools for success.  As Chantel says, “Yesterday’s mistakes are gone, so let them go.  You can’t control tomorrow, so stop worrying about it.  Today is your chance to lose weight, get strong and look great”.

She believes that bite-size successes bring you further along.  It’s all about progress and not perfection.

I’ve always been inspired by other peoples stories.  After all, who doesn’t love a good success story?  In this book you’ll find testimonials of real people who have followed Chantel’s program and seen wonderful results.  They’ve changed not only their appearance and physical fitness but there emotion fitness as benefited as well.  And we can see their results with the pictures that are included.

This book is full of practical advice with an eating plan and workout plan too.

I have been wanting to improve my eating habits and lose those extra, hum 20 lbs, for sometime now.
I believe to do that you have to really be ready to make that change.  I believe I’m finally getting there.  It’s a matter of mindset and that’s where I am.  I believe that by following Chantel’s advice and keeping it simple I’ll be able to see that same success.  So it looks like Chantel’s gonna be my best new friend for awhile.

I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review

  1. Girl, you are one BUSY woman! Book reviews, giveaways... I can barely post, read, and comment these days!
Question: Is this book only for those looking to lose weight or is there value in it for other life changes and endeavors? Just curious!
