Today's sponsored giveaway is from the Essay Group. This should get you fired up about Mother's Day. I couldn't resist!
I love bonfires - they're just so much fun. I'm always telling Neil I want to roast some marshmallows, but it's just too much of a hassle to set it all up. Thanks to the Light 'n Go Bonfire Log it just got a whole lot easier.
Light 'n Go is an all-natural pure kiln dried birch stump that's made to light with just one match. No chemicals, it just starts with a paperboard starter. It can't get any easier than that. No mess - no wait, it's just an instant good time.
One of my favorite features is the simple rope they've attached to the side, making the Light 'n Go log portable. Grab it and go.
I have the best memories of my dad and I getting ready for marshmallow and weenie roasts. We would have bonfires at the beach for the whole family or even birthdays parties with bonfires in the back yard. Dad & I would head out to a wooded piece of property we owned, to gather palmetto stems to make roasting sticks. These are the little moments that build the best memories.
We would cut as many palm fronds as we needed and then just cut the leaves off. On one end we would shave it to a sharp point to put the goodies on. That's it. Palmettos are so easy to whittle down and only take a second. They make the best sticks to use for roasting! The hard part was lighting the fire in those days. Boy, don't I wish we'd had the Light 'n Go back then. There would have been a lot more of those fun times.
I'm not a s'mores kinda a girl. I like my marshmallows simple. So last night that's just what Neil & I had, some good old fashion roasted marshmallows. The only thing that could have made it better would have been having the grandkids here to enjoy it with us. My son Ty would love this, because when the were living here a year ago, they always took logs out to the beach for bonfires. That rope on the side makes it so easy and portable.
This may seem like an unusual Mother's Day gift but it's something I'd love to receive and I think so would a lot of other mothers. Here's and idea for a great way to present it. Get a big galvanized tub, sit your Light n' Go log in the center and add a mixture of your favorite beverages around it. Wrap up all the makings for some gourmet s'mores in a pretty cellophane wrapper or put them in a tin and add a bow. You're giving mom the best gift of all, a night of fun with her family!!
The Bonfire burns for more than 1.5 hours, while the Bonfire Jumbo goes for about 2.5 hours. Both can be used indoors in a fireplace or outdoors in a fire pit or chiminea. You can sit the Bonfire on a few rocks or in sand with no worries. You can even sit a pan on it to cook eggs if you're out camping. How cool is that?
*Never place the Bonfire on concrete or similar surface when burning as the heat will crack and pop the cement and burning embers may be dispersed.
You can purchase the Light 'n Go at your local Home Depot. Mine sells them for $10.98. If you'd like to know more about the Essay Group, the Light 'n Go Bonfire Log and a whole array of other all natural-items you can visit their website here: http://essay-group.com/.
