Sneeze, Cough, Hack, = The Crud

Yuck, yuck, yuck!  This was not the way I wanted to start out the New Year.  I really don't think this cold to hot weather we're having is helping.  It's been in the high 70's and will even be up to 81 this weekend - in JANUARY!
Last week I had the cruddy cough, sneezing and misery.  Add that to the hurt leg and I didn't feel great.  Then by Sunday I ever so politely passed the crud to Neil who seemed to take it much worse than me.  Fast forward to Wed and we both have it full blown.  Not a pretty picture.

This year wasn't supposed to start out this way but at least I know it has to go up from here.  Last Friday Neil took me to the Dr. because of my leg.  She said that my thyroid level is a little high, which it may sound weird, but I'm glad to hear that.  I've been complaining to the Drs for 3 years that my energy level is null.  I'm just tired of being tired.  Combine that with a general pulse of 36 to 40 and I'm totally dragging ALL THE TIME!  Well if it does have something to do with the thyroid at least that's an answer and treatable.  She also ordered xrays for my leg, referred me back to the heart Dr. and ordered more blood work.

Friday night about 6pm the Dr, calls and says my leg is fractured and I should go to the ER to have it set as soon as possible.  Too tired, so I'll wait till tomorrow.  On Saturday my DIL took me and I had to wait 6 hours!!  I finally got in and the ER Dr, who was very nice spent less than 5 mins with me and said that yes it's fractured but it seems to be healing fine and I that my instincts were right and I didn't need to be there but she did wrap it and give me pain meds.  What a long wasted day.

By Sunday Neil's sounding worse and feeling awful.  Cold, aches and pains.  YUCK!  By Tuesday I'm getting sick again.  And here it is Wednesday and we both feel horrible.  Good thing I went to Publix last night and bought fluids and fruit.  It's so nice having Ty and Christal back in town because today I called them and they brought us some Vicks DayQuil and NyQuil over.  Now I guess it just up to us to rest.

Boy and I'm feeling like things are getting further and further behind.  I hope all of ya'll are staying well.  Be preventative and eat right, take supplements, do whatever it takes.  You don't want this.

  1. I woke up this morning with your crud...now I know WHO gave it to me! LOL And wouldn't you know it, I decided to start taking vitamins earlier this week after stopping them to save money after the split!
And of course I'm out of Nyquil. Hoping my daughter will stop and pick some up for me.

I hate ER, takes forever and they do nothing. Glad your leg is healing and you don't need a cast.

Take care and hope you feel better soon *hugs*deb

  2. So far, we have managed to miss out on the crud...but I think that it's only a matter of time :) I'm paranoid and ride everyone here about handwashing, not touching faces, you name it...but I can only control so much since they head off out into the world each day and I work from home! I'm glad you are felling better by now!
