Gifting From The Gifted

Have you ever noticed it seems that people who are very creative seem to also be such joyous givers. They genuinely seem to be pleased at the thought of sharing and making someone else happy. I'm not the most talented but God did give me a love of all things sweet and kind and a joy of giving.

When I receive a gift it always makes me feel so special but actually it's gift giver who is special. Let me introduce those of you who have not had the good fortune of meeting Elizabeth from Creative Breathing she is one of these joyous people. Just take a look at these sweet books that she gifted me with. I was so excited to receive them that I sat down and had the most relaxing evening reading these and then looking at the pictures over and over (Neil always says what are you doing, looking at the pictures? You know you can't read. - ha-ha, he's so funny). She is one of the most talented and modest crafters, no make that artist that I know. I feel so privileged to call her my dear friend. I have to admit, I am addicted to her blog. Not only for the most wonderful cheery photographs of her lovely creations and more but her writings that just let me drift aways to a bygone era of simple sweetness, gentleness and kindness that we have to search a little harder to find today. Her title is so apropos "Creative Breathing". Sometimes it's hard to find time to slow down. I want to thank Elizabeth for that special moment when I open my dashboard and sigh "Oh' goody, a new post from E.".

Have a blessed evening ya'll!!!

  2. Wistful sigh...oh how I lovw little golden books, brings back so many memories... Your right about creative people. I'm a creative soul and I love making and doing for others, I keep doing these swaps and it's so funny because I don't even care if it's a swap, my swap gift comes when the receipant receives what I've sent and sends me the message that they love it, or it made them so happy! There is no greater gift big or small, it makes my heart dance and puts a smile on my face to know that something that was so little for me to do has made someone so happy! P.S. I stumbled across your site surfing through blog land. Love your wall paper, wish I had a little skirt made from this print!

Have a blessed day, thanks for sharing,
    XO

  4. Oh, the little vintage books are always so sweet! Also, thanks so much for alerting us to some wonderful giveaways-I will be entering those today.

What I really wanted to commemt on was your post of Sept. 16th entitled "She's Gone Home".
I want to express my condolences for the pain they are going through - I know it is so difficult. I have lost 3 family members in the space of a 9 month period so I do really know what they are feeling. God bless them and may they feel His love and tenderness surround them.

I was unsure if you would notice this comment
if I left it for the 16th post--I still have so much to learn about this blogging. I have a brand-new blog called Beauty and Blessings and hoping blogging will help me deal with grief--so far I've made one entry and am kind of stuck as what to say next. Already a writer's block!
