Pertending I'm Scarlett O' Hara and Sarah's Special Apron

I just thought I'd share a few pictures of the apron I made for Sarah over at Gypsy Mermaid.
You've all heard me talk about Sarah before.  She's such a sweetheart.  She had a certain kind of Apron/top in mind and gave me an idea of what she was looking for. Now I'm not a pattern maker by any means so when she said she loved it and it fit I was thrilled.

I just added a few extra touches with some vintage table scarfs and doilies.

Made a few flowers and added a few buttons.  Buttons make everything better.

I like finding a way to upcycle old items into something totally different and new.  This fabric started out as a pair of drapes with a burlap band at the top.  I felt just like Scarlett O'Hara making this one.  Hee-hee.

I was already to do more creating last week but it wasn't to be.  Now my heads just stopped up and I'm very uncreative.

Hugs ya'll......Tracy :)

My Friends Bless My Life

Hey Ya'll.  It's finally Friday I bet a lot of you have smiles on your face.  I hope you're all looking forward to a fun weekend.  I also want to wish all you Mothers a Happy Mothers Day!

I been  online too much lately.  It seems harder and harder to find the time.  I am never home alone.  With both Neil semi-retired and working at home and my MIL here all the time it can be really frustrating.  I used to get so much more done when I had the day to myself.  I could get the house clean and still have time to craft and blog.  I miss keeping up with you all so much.  I hate that I never get time just to visit.

This week I got the most wonderful surprise from my sweet friend Sarah at Gypsy Mermaid Life.  She sent me a birthday gift to celebrate my 50th birthday.  She is one creative gal.  Just look at this beautiful cross that she made.  I just love it!  It has a music sheet in the background with beautiful pearls and trimmed in velvet ribbon.  And she also sent this darling pincushion that she created using a vintage jello mold, a fun cheery fabric and pretty pins.  I couldn't have been more pleased or thrilled.  Thank you Honey!

I will have to enjoy my cross from afar.  My MIL who's name is cross by the way, seems to have claimed it.  She just loved it and I didn't have the heart to say it's mine.  With the Alzheimer's, she tends to take lots of little things and put in her purse or somewhere in her room.  But I clean that room so I will enjoy seeing it and enjoy knowing she is enjoying it.  See Sarah you've blessed more than one with your gift.  If you know Sarah you already know what a sweet and kind person she is.  I am now a blogger because she took a chance on me and let me join her for my very 1st swap even though I hadn't even started my own blog yet.  Please stop by and visit her  and check out her Etsy shop.
I'm going to try to get some more blogging done over the next couple of days.  I have a giveaway to share with you and some exciting news to share.  So stay tuned.

Hugs....Tracy :)
