Fall Fashion Forward - Part I

Today I wanted to share with you PART I of what started out to be one fall fashion post and has now turned into three. Have you've been checked out 2013 hottest fall fashions yet?   Just head out and do a little window shopping and you'll see some repeating trends.
Metallic is lighting up the runways.  One of my favorites is the copper! It has got the IT factor!  When I but high ticket items I tend to spend money on classic.  Then I buy a few trendy knock off or inexpensive pieces to punch it up. Belts are a great way to add a little trend to an outfit. Less money, big punch without being overwhelming.

Bags are much more ladylike this season.  A must have is a small structured bag with a short handle.  I think a metallic or Burgundy is a perfect choice.  I'm so glad to see the hobo bags going away.  Give me a Kelly bag any day!
You find polka dots in the stores now too but with a twist. You'll find sequined dots on cashmere or cashmere like sweaters.  Great look especially with a button down blouse or denim shirt peeking out at the color and shirt tail.  To keep from looking child like try wearing a pairing a silk tee or button down blouse with skinny jeans and flats.  With dot's you need to ere on the side of less is more.  Keep dot's in a small to medium size to keep from looking like part of a circus.  Definitely do not go for a tent style dress with dots.
You'll see embellished sweatshirts everywhere.  Sequins, Rhinestones,  Even faux necklace necklines. The trend is called Street Chic or Street Style.  An embellished sweatshirt lends elegance to an otherwise casual item.  It's all about taking the everyday to a more sophisticated level
A sophisticated biker chic is showing up.
Leopard prints are splashed around and this is a big 2013 must have!  Touches here and there are great.  Keep it to a minimum ladies.  No cougars gone wild! A little animal print goes a long way. A pair of flats or loafers are where I'm looking to get my leopard on.  Maybe a belt too but not worn together.

In fashion it only takes a few things to update your closet. There's no need to go out and replace everything.  The number 1 key to fashion is to have key basic items that are your staples in your closet. Just like sugar and flour are in your kitchen.  Then just add a few trendy pieces for a little spice and you're set for the season.  With good basic's, those smaller trendy pieces will make you look like a fashion maven.

If you have a favorite fashion tip or way to save on your wardrobe I'd love to hear it!

I have more of 2013's Fall Trends to share so stay tuned for Fall Fashion Forward - Part II

I Want Ann Taylor To Make Me Beautiful

Beautiful on the outside that is.  I love Ann Taylor clothing.
Mixing the old with the new is a classic v-neck cardigan sporting bold color blocks.

No, this isn't a sponsored post by Ann Taylor.  I'm just in a fashion state of mind and Ann Taylor seems to know what I want.  Just look at these stylish pieces I fell in love with.  To see the prices and descriptions you can check out my pinterest page here.  I've pinned them under Clothes and accessories or Jewelry.  You can also click on the photo to be transported there.  Doesn't that sound so Star Trek futuristic.

I have really been an orange kind of girl this year.  There are so many hues that I drop in the orange bucket, like one of my favorite which is coral.   Anyway back to the top below.  I love the way it softly drapes the body.  The soft laser cut pleats Shirred beneath front yoke. Back zipper. Rounded hem with side slits.

This Mini Graphic Print Cocoon Top with the Jewel neck is darlin'. I love the shape of the short dolman sleeves.  Ann Taylor is one of those stores that oozes quality and sophistication.  You can see that in the details like the gathering not only beneath front but the back yoke too. I didn't think I would like a gathered elasticized hem but I've changed my mind.  I want this.

Graphic prints are so IN now and this Graphic Print Pouch is a steal.  And it's rockin with color too!

I've always been a huge fan of clutches.  They're so retro classic, it makes me think of the old glamour of Hollywood movie stars.   Croc embossed patterns are always a classic, chic way to go.  I also think of Kate Middleton's impeccable style.  How do we refer to Kate now that she's Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge?  This gorgeous clutch is on the People Style Watch.

Loving this fun necklace! Hibiscus Neon Light Surf Green.  It even sounds fun.

Ann Taylor's Square Double Wrap Watch is the perfect pop of color that would add a trendy touch to a classic outfit.

I'm a little greedy.  I want the classic brown croc embossed Square Double Wrap Watch too.

This is where my extra greedy side shows.  Two watches just aren't enough.  I also want this cool Tortoiseshell Linked Strap Watch.

I can almost smell the leather of these beautiful Elena Cutout Sandals.

Perfect Exotic Embossed Leather Peeptoe Pumps.  The neutral color would go with so many outfits and they look comfortable too.

I'm dreaming of a shopping spree.  I purely selfish, all for me shopping spree.

What are you dreaming of?
