Greening Up with Scotts Bonus S Turf Builder

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts Turf Builder for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

March is the month that we pull out our Scott’s spreader and Scotts Turf Builder, and this year was no different.  You know the saying “April showers bring May flowers”, well that phrase has always stayed in my mind and helps me to remember when to fertilize each year.  March we fertilize and then April - God willing we have plenty of showers (if not the hose can do the job) and the next thing we know we’re looking out at a lush lawn of green.
It's so easy to fertilize your own lawn.  The spreader makes it so simple and the directions are right on the bag. There's no need to hire a company to do it.

We use the Scotts broadcast spreader to apply our fertilizer. I start out by walking the edges of our property and then start walking in a back and forth pattern between those edges to spread the fertizer evenly.  See the illustration below.

Be sure to water the lawn thoroughly after fertilizing. Watering in the fertilizer washes the nutrients into the soil where lawn roots can use them and where they won't be washed away by a heavy rain. Watering also gets the fertilizer off the blades of grass which may cause burning. A dry lawn is more likely to burn than a wet one.

Like I was saying, we just spread the Scotts Bonus S Turf Builder last month and you can see it’s already done a lot of work.  I’m sure I’m going to be seeing even more changes in the coming months. Can't wait to watch as it greens up even more.

Forgive my before photos above, somehow my camera was on vivid mode.  We had a lot of weeds and the killing weeds part of the Bonus S sure did the job it promises!  Now we have quite a few bare spots, but that’s okay, because killing off those weeds is going to allow the grass to spread and grow, allowing the feeding part of the formula turn our lawn a beautiful deep green.
You can see in the after pictures above and below how much better our lawn is looking already! That's a lot of grass in front of our shed and it makes me so happy and proud to drive up in the summer and see it a deep rich green. The shed in the picture is where we store all our garden tools, like our Scotts spreader.  The wooden wall on the right, is a giant secret door, that we can put our bigger equipment in.
The photo with the fountain in the background is to the right of the shed and the same spot I was in when the before pictures were taken. These pictures tell exactly why we’ve used Scotts Bonus S Turf Builder for years.  We can count on it to get the job done.
Bonus S is an existing lawncare product designed specifically for southern grass and weeds. This year they have a new, and improved formula. It’s the most effective Bonus S formula ever that’s guaranteed to clear out listed - It controls 82% more types of weeds.
It’s now safe for more major southern grass types including St. Augustinegrass (including Floratam), bermudagrass(new), centipedegrass, zoysiagrass, seashore paspalum(new) and buffalograss(new).
- Available at major retailers in the Jacksonville & Ft. Myers area.  When you think of Florida, you think of lush tropical green lawns.  You don’t want to be THAT house, you know the one I’m talking about.  The one with the brown, dry lawn with patches of dirt throughout.
Do yourself a favor and pick of a bag of Scotts Turf Builder, so you don’t have to hang your head in shame.

It's a Lawn Care Revolution with Scotts Bonus S

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Scotts Turf Builder for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

In Florida we do things a little different.  Nine times out of ten you will find us outside working on those tropical lawns, while the rest of the country is sipping hot chocolate and watching it snow. Not much time away from yard work here. This past week we got a taste of what the frozen North was like, but it didn't last long and we'll be back up to 78 this weekend.  I can already here it calling....FEED ME, FEED ME.

Lawn care isn't easy work when the days reach 98 degrees, so we do what we can now to make it easier and prettier later.  That's why we've used Scotts Turf Builder Bonus S for years.  Now the new formula Bonus S guarantees to clear out dollar weed and clover while it feeds your lawn.  The new Bonus S also controls 82% more weed types and can be used on major Southern grasses.

If you live in the Jacksonville and Ft. Myers area, Scotts most effective Weed and Feed ever will be available soon.  You know what that means, it's almost time to get the ole' uniform back out.  That would be the regimented shorts, tank top and flip-flops for those who aren't in the know.  We know it's official when we get the spreader out to begin fertilizing.  I'll be back in just a few short weeks to share more with you about Scotts Bonus S, and some first hand before and after photos of our lawn.  So be sure and tune in for the rest of the story.

My Roses Are Getting Some Love with Pennington Smart Feed System

I'm as busy as a bee with my newest BzzAgent campaign.
Lets take a look at a before photo of my rose bush.  I've barely seen a rose on this since I planted it years ago.  It will fill out with leaves during the summer but seriously I only see maybe two blooms.

But why make it and me suffer anymore.  I'm ready to see the plant perk up and that's just what Pennington Smart Feed is going to help it do.  And the best part is it's so simple to use.
Can you believe your eyes?  If I wasn't here I wouldn't be able to.  I am so glad that I had the opportunity to try Pennington's Smart Feed Sprayer System.

Best of all with the Smart Feed Sprayer there is no mixing, no measuring, no mess, Just effective nutrient delivery while you water.
My blooms are so gorgeous and I'm so proud of them.  This was after only one application.

I've never liked mixing stinky, messy fertilizers and that's probably one of the reasons my plants were getting feed enough at all.  But the biggest pain in my patootie was the time it took to stand there while with the hose while my old fertilizer did its job.  With Pennington, all of that's a thing of the past.  The Pennington Smart Feed System delivers 100% of its nutrients in roughly 10 minutes.  That's half the time and half the water of competing products.

Using Pennington is as simple as 1-2-3.
      1.  Simply attach the sprayer to your hose.

      2.  Load in a pre-measured fertilizer tablet.
      3.  Spray to release essential nutrients for your plants!

Seriously.  Take a look at all the new buds that I have just after using Pennington one time!!
The leaves look bigger, they darker and brighter.  All around healthier.  And just look at all these tiny little buds waiting to open.  Whatever this poor little bush was missing from the soil it must be getting from Pennington.

Just in case you need some more reasons to use the NEW Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System here are some facts.
  • It takes the guesswork out of fertilizing, delivering nutrients to your plants for bigger, better results*
  • No mixing, no measuring, no mess - water-soluble fertilizer is pre-measured and compressed into tablets you can easily dispense through the hose attachment
  • The Smart Feed Sprayer has four different settings, so you can select the right spray pattern for your needs
  • The clear chamber makes it easy to see when tablets have fully dissolved
  • Each pre-measured Smart Feed tablet fertilizes up to 300 square feet of outdoor space.
  • Tablet refills are currently available in three varieties:  All Purpose, Flowers and Blooms and Tomato and Vegtable
  • The sprayer system retails for a suggested price of $12.99, while the Smart Feed refill tablets start at just $9.99
  • The products are sold at Walmart, Home Depot and Lowe's

Now go get your Pennington Smart Feed Sprayer System and feed your plants this weekend.  They thank you over and over again with big beautiful blooms!
