Mineral Fusions Beautiful Basics Kit Giveaway and Review

Last week I received Mineral Fusion's Beautiful Basics Kit to try for myself.  It gives you the essentials for a simple naturally gorgeous look in 5 minutes or less.

Update on My Sister Joni

Prayer is an amazing thing and friends are God given blessings.  I want to thank all of you who have prayed along with me and my family this past week.  My sister finally went home yesterday without surgery.


After a long tearful week, she was released yesterday.  I'm so relieved that she didn't have surgery and she was so happy and excited I didn't want to ruin it for her but to tell you the truth I'm still frightened.  The Dr. said that one main artery going to the brain was 100% blocked and that there was nothing they could do for that.  Once it's that blocked, that's it.  What worries me is, that he also said the other artery was 50% blocked.  He said that was plenty to feed the brain and that they would have her on medication to stop anymore build up. Not reassuring enough for me.

They have her on the patch while in the hospital so she hasn't smoked and plans not too.  I'm holding onto faith that she can quit.  They also have her on meds for sugar diabetes.  They have been lowering it with insulin at the hospital but think once she's back home and moving around that she won't need the insulin.

God bless each and everyone for your precious prayers.  I know that is the only thing that brought us any peace of mind this week.  Your prayers were mighty and strong.  I love you all!


I thought I'd show you the card I made for my nephew last night while thinking of my sister, his mom.

He's only in his twenties but I can still remember when a man brought a horse through the neighborhood taking pictures of the kids with a cowboy hat, vest and holster on.  He was so cute with his carrot orange hair and the red vest and cowboy hat!  This vintage picture reminded me of that day.

Here's an inside view.  As you can see I'm very talented at obscuring the view so that you can't read it.  NOT!

Update on My sister Joni:  The Doctors are waiting results on a new test today.  They did a CT Angioplasty (or something like that) to see if she is even able to have the surgery to correct the 100% blockage in the main artery of her neck.  

Thank you all for your prayers.  I hope you will continue to remember her and her family.  She asked the Doctor what if she's not a viable candidate for the surgery and he said she still had one good main artery.  That's a really scary option to live with.

Some of the Giveaways that I've Won this Year

First I'd like to thank all my friends for their kind words and many prayers.  I could feel the calmness increasing each time I called my sister yesterday.  We are still waiting on the Vascular Surgeon to come in with the latest results and tell her how he wants to proceed.  Please continue to keep her in your prayers.  They mean so much and each and everyone is so important.  I started the post below the other night and seeing how I can barely think straight enough to put 2 words together, I thought I'd wrap it up and use it for today's post.

This is a post I've been wanting to share with you for awhile but just haven't managed to get to it before now.  It seems that I've been pretty lucky this year with blog giveaways.  I haven't been spending much time on them lately but I'm wanting to change that too.

I received this subscription  to Sandra Lee's Semi-Homemade magazine after attending her twitter party.  I love all the great recipes and ideas she has.

I was so happy to win the giveaway from Annette @ Mimi Loves All Eight .  She was giving away a Aroma Home Animal Warmer of the winners choice.  The reason I was so excited was because I'd bought one very similar to this one years ago and loved it.  But this one is even better because the lavender scent pack is removable so you can replenish the aroma with a few drops of pure essential oil.  You can remove the inner cushion from the Cozy Bear cover and place it in the microwave to heat.  This is great for kids with sick stomachs or if your like me you love the soft calming sent when you hold the bear close.  I'll tell you a little secret.  I had Neil bring me my old bear when I was in the hospital.  It helped me relax.  Thanks again Annette!
